The project
The regeneration project for the historic centre of La Valletta Brianza covers Via Roma and sections of Via IV Novembre and Via Cantù. This area has significant heritage value for the municipality, with several historic buildings: the medieval tower (XII century), the former parish church (XIII century), the parish church, and Palazzo Pozzo da Perego with the San Giovanni cloister (XVI century).
The regeneration and lighting design centre on three key interventions: replacement of the entire public lighting installation; new lighting for two car parks on Via Rivazza, which were also comprehensively refurbished through construction works; and dedicated lighting for the historic and artistic monuments along Via Roma, namely the medieval tower, the old church, the parish church and bell tower, and the façade of Palazzo Pozzo da Perego. The works also include placing the low-voltage electricity and telephone networks underground, installing a new fibre-optic network and renewing the historic centre's paving with Luserna stone.
The project received a favourable opinion from the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio for the provinces of Como, Lecco, Monza e Brianza, Pavia, Sondrio and Varese, pursuant to Articles 21 and 146 of Legislative Decree No. 42 of 22 January 2004.
