The project
Several hospitals, including those in Sesto San Giovanni, Sondalo and Turin, extended existing blocks to create new wards for the containment of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and scabies. At the time of the project description, these wards were being used to treat patients with COVID-19.
YOUinIt designed the electrical and mechanical installations serving these blocks for the local health authority.
Purpose-designed solutions were developed to contain viruses, with ventilated patient rooms served by air handling units fitted with absolute and activated-carbon filters, bedhead units with medical gas outlets, and patient areas designed for intensive care use.
