The project
I Portali Shopping Centre opened in 1988, was extended in 1995 and refurbished in 2015 to a design by One Works. It now has a shopping mall with approximately 50 retail units and an outdoor car park with around 2,000 spaces, across a total area of approximately 25,000 m². A future extension is envisaged that could increase the centre's floor area by more than 20,000 m². The surrounding proposals also include a pedestrian square, a linear park for sports activities and an underground car park to remove cars from the surface.
The commission involved assessing the maintenance condition of the building services and preparing a maintenance plan with detailed requirements for each system component.
