The project
Consip issued a tender to improve the energy efficiency of more than one hundred state-owned properties managed by the Agenzia del Demanio and used by the Ministry of the Interior's Department of Firefighters, Public Rescue and Civil Defence. This pilot project covers 104 buildings across 93 sites and forms part of the Agenzia del Demanio's wider programme to upgrade and rationalise the energy performance of public administration premises, with the aim of reducing public expenditure. The Agency identified the Italian National Fire and Rescue Service as the most suitable organisation with which to pilot energy-efficiency initiatives in public buildings. YOUinIT helped assess the condition of fire stations throughout Italy to prepare the tender documentation required by the end client.
